"KYK", Hazard prediction Briefing

The KYK (or KYT), Kiken Yochi Activity, is one of the group meeting before staring work every day regarding hazards prediction in Japan.
Kiken means hazard, Yochi means prediction, K means activity and T means Training.

The hazard prediction activity based on the KYK Basic 4-Steps Method and short meetings with the use of small whiteboard.
Steps of the KYK Activity are as follows :
  Step 1:  What are the hidden hazards in the work place? (Identifying hazards and understanding the actual situation)
  Step 2: These are the danger points. (Investigating the reality)
  Step 3: What would you do? (Establishing countermeasures)
  Step 4: These are the danger points. (Setting targets)

The KYK Activity increases the motivation of workers to practice in teams. It uses meetings to sharpen awareness of what constitutes danger. Workers share information on hazards and improve their problem solving capabilities by working on finding solutions in brief meetings before staring works. And they improve their powers of concentration by practicing pointing and calling activities in all of the important points in the work.

The KYK Activity is similar to Job Safety Analysis (JSA), however it is different from the Risk Assessment. This method is utilized in not only construction site but also many other industries, e.g., manufactures, ship building, traffic transportation and railway.

I begun to post a blog regarding Occupational health, safety and environment. I have posted another blog in Japanese, Mandara Safety.

Construction engineers engage in business as an occupational safety and health, global environment and safety structure, I consider the question around them.

Occupational Safety and Health Act are too complicated so that I cannot understand all the detail, often of uncertain interpretation. There are so many human errors and the ethics violation. I suppose that many people are against the wall what I should educate them.

I wish to integrate and share one's knowledge about the safety health and environmental advice that many people present.

Safety, health and environmental control is most important for risk management business. Another cause of industrial accidents, the mistake of the survey and the reason for the construction of the deficit I had come from human failure. Failure mechanism is common in all.

Therefore, safety, health, environment, and I will to focus on major themes such as ethical engineers.
